Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients:

  • 3 lbs pork shoulder (pork butt), trimmed of excess fat
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce (plus extra for serving)
  • 1 cup chicken broth

Seasoning:

  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper

Finishing Touches:

  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 12 slider buns (soft Hawaiian rolls work great)
  • 2 cups coleslaw (store-bought or homemade)

Instructions

  1. Season the Pork: In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, paprika, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Rub the mixture all over the pork shoulder.
  2. Layer in Slow Cooker: Place sliced onion and garlic in the bottom of the slow cooker. Add pork on top. Pour in chicken broth and apple cider vinegar.
  3. Cook Low & Slow: Cover and cook on Low for 8 hours or High for 4-5 hours, until pork is fork-tender.
  4. Shred & Sauce: Remove pork, shred with two forks, and mix with BBQ sauce.
  5. Assemble Sliders: Slice buns, pile on pulled pork, drizzle extra BBQ sauce if desired, and top with creamy coleslaw. Serve warm.
