  • 1/2 cup (60g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup (120g) powdered sugar

  • 4 large egg whites
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For Dipping and Decoration:

  • 1 cup (170g) semi-sweet chocolate, melted
  • 1/4 cup chopped roasted nuts (optional, for texture)

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and butter a rectangular bar or financier mold.

  5. Combine Ingredients: Add the egg whites and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients; mix gently. Gradually stir in the browned butter until smooth.
  6. Fill Molds: Spoon the batter into prepared molds, filling them about 3/4 full.
  7. Bake: Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown and set.
  8. Cool and Dip: Allow the financiers to cool completely, then dip each bar halfway into melted chocolate.
  9. Decorate: Sprinkle with chopped nuts and edible gold leaf.
  10. Serve: Let the chocolate set before serving.
