Ingredients

Scale

Meat:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 lb smoked sausage or kielbasa, sliced (optional, for extra flavor)

Vegetables:

  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced

Other:

  • 2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Brown the Meat – In a large pot or deep skillet, heat olive oil. Add ground beef and sausage, cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
  2. Cook Vegetables – Stir in onion, bell pepper, and garlic. Cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add Tomatoes & Seasoning – Stir in diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, beef broth, paprika, and Italian seasoning. Bring to a simmer.
  4. Add Pasta – Stir in elbow macaroni. Cover and cook 12–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender.
  5. Serve – Season with salt and pepper. Garnish with fresh parsley. Serve hot with garlic bread.

Notes

  • For a cheesier version, stir in 1 cup shredded cheddar or mozzarella before serving.
  • Add red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
  • Leftovers reheat well for 2–3 days.
