Ingredients

Scale

For the Marinade:

  • 2 lbs flank steak (or skirt steak)
  • ¼ cup orange juice
  • 2 tbsp lime juice
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 jalapeño, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

For Serving:

  • 810 small flour or corn tortillas
  • 1 avocado, diced
  • ½ cup red onion, finely diced
  • ½ cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • Lime wedges
  • Salsa or pico de gallo

Instructions

  1. Marinate the Steak – Combine orange juice, lime juice, soy sauce, olive oil, garlic, jalapeño, cumin, paprika, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Place steak in a shallow dish or bag, pour marinade over it, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours (overnight for best flavor).
  2. Grill the Steak – Heat a grill or skillet over high heat. Cook steak for 4–5 minutes per side, or until medium-rare (internal temp ~130°F).
  3. Rest and Slice – Remove steak and let it rest for 5 minutes. Slice thinly against the grain.
  4. Assemble the Tacos – Warm tortillas, then fill with sliced carne asada. Top with avocado, onions, cilantro, and a squeeze of lime. Add salsa or pico de gallo if desired.
